Rickmansworth through to next round of Clapham Common Trophy…

Today we were up against a strong Haste Hill side who were not the ideal first round tie, being one of the strongest clubs around. All seemed lost as the home team went down by five points. But no, the unheard of happened and we beat them away by nine points giving us a slender win of four points.

What a performance by the away boys; Simon Jackson and Graham Farmer coming in with 38 points, Dave Watson and Nick Symonds 36 and a magnificent fight back from Gary Sippetts and Dave Miles who had just 13 points on the board after ten holes finished on a high romping home with 35 points. At home well done to Tom Moore, Roy Prue, Ian Lewis, Ian Brown and Denis Curran. We await to see who we have in the next round.

Rickmansworth Ladies – match report

Rickmansworth v Little Hay

On Wednesday 17th April our ladies played their first match of the year. The weather started cold and damp but after a short time the sun came out and we were blessed with a glorious day.  Our opponents were keen and competitive.  The match was 4 Ball Better Ball ¾ handicap.  Little Hay won by 2½ – 1½  but all the games were very close and all played extremely well.

The opposition were very impressed with, the catering, and the course. In particular the greens .

The team was: B Arlow, June Poppleton, Diana Crocker, Pat Ladd, Mary Harris, Adrienne Finch, Ann Loughman and Alison Knowles. Well done everyone and success for the coming year.
