Men’s team results update

It’s been a very busy time of year for the Men’s team, so here’s a quick run down of the recent results.

NAPGC Clapham Common Shield

After overcoming Haste Hill in the first round, Ricky faced a good Little Hay team in the second round. Each home team won their respective matches, but it was Ricky who won by a greater aggregate, with a total score of 223-211 points. Onwards and upwards to the area semi-final, where a tie against Wycombe Heights awaits on Saturday 29th June.

Herts Friendly League

Recent results attached. Ricky’s first away match of the season saw the team narrowly defeated 200-196 points at Stevenage – always a tricky venue. Next up for the team is the return match v Stevenage at the fortress, on Saturday 13th July.

NAPGC Bourne-Vanneck Trophy

Rickmansworth entered 2 teams as usual in this 3-man team event. Congratulations go to Peter Bartlett, David Wills & Peter Maestas as their score of nett 227 strokes at the Little Hay qualifier on Saturday 1st June, managed to secure one of the 16 places at the national final, which this year is being held at the very good West Middlesex GC, on Saturday 6th July. Well done guys. Can you follow in the footsteps of the class of 2013?

Men’s Club Friendlies

We play both Richmond Park and Meyrick Park in long standing friendly matches. On Saturday 15th June, the team headed to south west London to take on the Richmond guys. A good match was played, but at “half time” in the home & away fixture, Richmond lead by 4 matches to 2. This weekend, Saturday 22nd June, Rickmansworth welcomed Meyrick Park all the way from Bournemouth for the first leg of the “Meyricky Bowl” fixture. On a fine and sunny day, Ricky won 3½ – 1½.
