Rickmansworth Salver – Handicap Club Championship 2020

After a week’s build up from the first round, the concluding 2nd rounds of this year’s Club Championships were played over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd August.

Much better weather prevailed compared with the first round, and the scoring reflected that, with plenty of players already in with a shout for both competitions, enjoying much improved putting surfaces.

In the Ricky Salver, Mick Rogers and Tom Moore both shot net 64s to add to their first round 64s for totals of 128. Graham Simon also finished at net 128 with a second round 65 to add to last week’s 63. Tunde Dabiri continued his first round form with another net 63 to finish with a net 126 total, just missing third place. Derek Nolan also added a net 63 to his first round of 62 for a 125 total and third place. New member Joe Brooks, only playing in his 2nd event, also mirrored his first round net 62, to finish at net 124 off his 10 handicap and the runner’s up placing. A rapid improver for sure over the next few rounds. But all these great rounds were blown away by a very impressive second week running for Craig Bartlett, who shot a second consecutive net 61 to win the Rickmansworth Salver by 2 shots, on a total of 122. Well done Craig!
