Handicap Allowances

Handicap Allowances As recommended by Council of National Golf Unions

The Council of National Golf Unions recommends that the following handicap allowances shall apply in the following forms of play. The reference to handicaps in all cases refers to PLAYING HANDICAPS.

Match Play

Singles                 The full difference between the handicaps of the two players.

Foursomes         Half of the full difference between the aggregate handicap of either side.

Four-ball             Lowest handicap to concede strokes to the other three.

Bogey Competitions

Singles                 Full handicap.

Foursomes         Half of the aggregate handicap of the partners.

Four-ball             Each player receives ¾ of their full handicap. Strokes to be taken according to the Strokes Table.

Stroke Play

Singles                 Full handicap.

Foursomes         Half of the aggregate handicap of the partners.

Four-ball             Each player receives ¾ of their full handicap and strokes are taken according to the Stroke Table.

Stableford Competition

Singles                 Full handicap.

Foursomes         Half of the handicap of the partners.

Four-ball             Each player receives ¾ of their full handicap and strokes are taken according to the Stroke Table.
